Biology lab is situated next to Physics lab. It is well organized to perform Bio practical of +1 and +2 according to the CBSE syllabus. Skeleton, equipments and specimen are well displayed. It has a seating capacity of about 30 students.
Biology Lab of Govt. Model Sr. Sec. School, Sector – 8B, Chandigarh is well-equipped with various instruments like microscopes, apparatus and various specimens which help in better understanding of the subject and help the students enhance their practical skills. BIOLOGY is a science of living organisms and the students receive concrete knowledge of the subject, as they are encouraged to perform every experiment on their own. This helps to raise their confidence .
Microscopic study of various plant and animal material helps the students in boosting their knowledge and understanding as the biological concepts become crystal clear in their minds. Various charts and human skeleton is well displayed in the lab for easy learning for the students. All these features in the lab help the students in their overall development in the field of Biology.
Activities in 2016-17
During the session 2016-17, XI class biology students prepared 3D models of biomolecules with special emphasis on DNA, whereas XII class biology students prepared working model on ‘operon’ which explains the working of genes in simple prokaryotic system.
