The Go Green eco-Club of GMSSS, Sec-8B, was inaugurated by Deputy DEO Mr. Chanchal Singh, Voc. Edu. Assistant Director Mrs. Saroj Mittal, Adult Edu. Assistant Director Mrs. Vinay Sood, Area Councilor Mr. Chander Mukhi and School Principal Mrs. Renu Puri on 5th july 2012. 550 herbal saplings of 17 varities were planted. other activities conducted by the club:
- Poster Making Competition to reduce pollution.
- Slogan writing on conservation of water
- Essay competition
- Celebrations of days like: earth day, van mahotsava, etc .
- Participation in rallies to awaken masses.
ACTIVITIES IN 2016-17
Following activities were done under by “go Green eco club” in the academic year 2016-17
- Vanmahotsav week-Tree plantation was carried out and a rally was taken out in nearby area.
- Green Consumer day:paper /jute bag making competition was held.
- World food day:healthy food competition was held on the same topic.
- Wildlife Week:Fifty students of class VII were taken to kansal forest to sensitize students about wildlife.
- Conservation and national energy conservation day were celebrated.
- 6.oil conservation week-it was celebrated and students were aware about “how to conserve energy resources”.
